GACovid19.org was a project sponsored by The Speedwell Foundation during an early period of the pandemic to measure and report on the economic impacts of the coronavirus within Georgia and the response to contain it. Students from Georgia Tech, supported by faculty and in association with the school’s Financial services Innovation Lab. In addition to tracking the virus itself, the website reported impacts on employment, construction, sales tax, mobility and various industries. An associated podcast, COVID Conversations, included interviews of individual experiences and specific cultural and economic changes brought by the pandemic and its response.
